Don Oscar Miro-Quesada Solevo is the originator of the Pachakuti Mesa tradition of cross-cultural shamanism and visionary founder of The Heart of the Healer (THOTH) Foundation. A respected kamasqa curandero and altomisayoq adept from Peru, don Oscar's apprenticeship in northern coastal huachuma curanderismo and initiation into the southeastern Andean paqokuna shaman/priesthood, formally took place between the years 1969 and 1986. His first immersion into the living soul and mythic reality of Peruvian shamanism was under the uncompromising tutelage of the famed huachumero don Celso Rojas Palomino from Salas, a then small agricultural community near the city of Chiclayo. Don Oscar accomplished his apprenticeship in northern coastal curanderismo fulfilling the dual role of auxilio de mesada (“healing altar auxiliary” or ”ceremonial assistant”) and rastrero (“clairvoyant diagnostician”/”diviner”), eventually becoming don Celso’s segundo de mando en banco (“second in command for curing sessions”), throughout the winter months (June, July and August in the Southern Hemisphere) of each yearuntil don Celso's untimely passing in July of 1982. Sacred Succulents

Sacred Succulents was founded in 1997, borne from our love of plants and a calling to their conservation through propagation, dissemination and education. The opportunity to share our lives with plants has gifted us with many blessings. Though we are involved with the conservation of a diversity of plants from many terrains at our biosanctuary here in northen California, the main focus of our offerings is on xerophytes such as cacti and other succulents. We have created a catalog that is fully illustrated and loaded with ethnobotanical and horticultural information including general succulent care and detailed seed germination and propagation techniques. Many of the plants listed in the catalog are seriously endangered in their natural habitats. We offer them to you in the hopes of the preservation of these species. Widespread dispersal of plants along with propagation on an individual level is one of the most viable means of helping protect wild populations while assuring the evolutionary expansion of these botanical wonders. We do not sell wild collected plants, all of our offerings are grown from seed or cuttings. We offer various Ariocarpus species including A. bravoanus, A. fissuratus, and A. retusus varieties...Aztekium species...Pachycereus species... Pelecyphora species... Strombocactus disciformis... dozens of Trichocereus species including new hybrids, heirloom strains, and cristate and monstrose San Pedros... endangered Turbinicarpus species...Aloes... rare Baobabs... several aromatic Bursera species used as sources for the wondrous Copal incense... Commiphora species... obscure Delosperma species... caudiciform Dioscorea... Hoodia gordonii; a popular and effective appetite supressant... Rooibos and Honeybush seed...
